I ordered "Amelita" on vinyl for Record Shop Day back a bit ago. Well, I opened it tonight. Something fell out - a 45 with two additional songs on it! One was one we've heard before, but "You" was brand new. It has Martie taking the lead on a medium/up tempo song and she really rocks it. I'm surprised the song wasn't on the album as it fit really well with the mood, but I'm glad we at least got it this way! Has anyone else heard it?

Huh-uh. Only the Chicks's/Steve Martin song.
How odd. I never even heard of it.......... I just did a quick YouTube/Google search and couldn't find it. Double odd.

If it sounded up-tempo and rocking, it may not be the same song (or, perhaps, a different arrangement?) Anyway, the original release of "You" (a rather refined, insistent, Progressive Bluegrass collaboration with Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers) was a guest track on a critically acclaimed album called "Rare Bird Alert". The original thread on the song is here: You(I can't really add anything to the post I made then, half way down that page - I wasn't terribly keen on it, but then I still miss the "Fly" era)

I hate it when artists release different songs for the different ways to buy the album! I doubt hilb126 is talking about the Chicks/Martin song. That would be an odd addition to a CYH album.

It's not the Chicks/Steve Martin song. Just another song with, coincidentally, the same name. The song is about finding that one person that makes you believe in love again.

Oh thanks, Hil! (I do find it rather odd that they should come up with the same one-word title, only three years later, but at least the circumstances are different). I hope the new one surfaces on-line before too long.

Yes, that would be nice. I really like the CYH songs in which Martie is the lead vocalist.

I spent the day trying to figure out the best way to record it in the highest quality cause, lets face it, who knows if we'll ever get a digital release. I have to say it turned out pretty darn well. Take a listen for yourself! www.sendspace.com/file/aa8p0y

thanks for uploading that! I actually like it. It is odd hearing her sing an uptempo song. All three we have heard have been slow. What was the other song that came with it?

Thanks so much, Hil - probably our only chance to hear it, unless they decide on a future re-release. I hope you enjoy your vinyl versions!

I never got to hear "The Best Is Yet To Come"! Spotify isn't available in Canada.
