I'm going to by "God Only Knows" because I like it... but..."You" ... ehh. I'll pass. Very boring. Not interested. If I do buy it... I won't ever listen to it. It isn't my style.

Ooh, I'm really enjoying "You." I love the blend of voices in the beginning and how it picks up towards the end. And I love to hear Natalie sing something new.

It strikes me as a lullaby kind of song. Very soothing.

Where do I find God Only Knows? Did the Chicks sing it as well. I kind of like You it sounds good but it seems long but its not. Thanks Natkins!

"God Only Knows" is available for purchase on Amazon (and I would guess, on I Tunes as well, if you're a Windows or Macintosh user)
No, I don't think the Dixie Chicks were involved.

This is a rough take on the lyrics (corrections welcome!) Edit: some of the words I first heard as "blue" are, on second thoughts, more likely to be "you", to tie in with the title, so I've provisionally changed them"Things have changed - rearranged Everything is new Spirits high - all blue sky, I've someone to talk to. But when the night is through I will think of you. Someone who Loves me too, After you withdrew. Kinder ways, better days. Words exchanged are true, But when two cycles end Thoughts of you begin (?) Tell me how, I allow This memory to go on. It is done, on the run Nothing else to do I know this mood's unreal, The heart takes time to heal Time goes on, Days are long Summer's gone - you Saturday - sadder day Silence plain - you And when the night is through I still think of you."
I was really looking forward to this song (the SCR and DCs together!) - but I found it turned out to be a disappointment (I'm tempted to say, a waste of two great bands) This probably owes a lot to Steve Martin's very sparse musical arrangement (the metronome-like ticking of the rhythm, and the general lullabye feel of the song (which Redheadedmomma mentioned). At first hearing, this gives a rather mechanical, matter-of-fact impression - which seems rather limited for a lyric that's rooted in pain and sadness. Also - like "God Only knows" - the vocal is dominated by Natalie's "twang-free" Pop voice - which hardly seems the best choice here, for a banjo driven song, that is still rooted (albeit pretty vaguely) in the world of Progressive Bluegrass. However, on later hearings, I felt the key to the DCs interpretation of the song was in the lines "It is done, on the run Nothing else to do I know this mood's unreal, ...Time goes on,This suggests a dream-like atmosphere, in which the singer reacts automatically to the changing atmosphere, without yet fully coming to terms with the changes. Although I know Emily had nothing to do with the songwriting, the first twelve lines or so seem poignant in terms of the changes in her own life - I'd love to see how the CYH might have interpreted this song (I think they have some stronger ones on their own album though)

While I don't think this song will ever crack my Chicks top 10, it's great and I'm very glad to have a new song in the cd player I'm definitely more into this than "God Only Knows" (and I absolutely love the Beach Boys version).

This song sounds like it could have been a B Side Single from the Home sessions. JMO.

I got the whole album, and I love you!!!! it's an awesome song, although, i would have loved to hear emily take lead rather than Natalie. Don't get me wrong, I love Natalie's voice, but I just think that Emily would have done it more justice. Love it though.
