Another loss for rock and roll, especially any self-respecting guitarist. The uber-legendary Duane Eddy, who became known for his "twangy" guitar sound via the 1958 instrumental classic "Rebel Rouser", passed away at his home in Fraklin, Tennesse on Tuesday at the age of 86: variety.com/2024/music/people-news/duane-eddy-dead-peter-gunn-1235988900/Among his many other instrumental hits were "The Ballad Of Paladin" (from the classic TV western Have Gun, Will Travel); "Peter Gunn" (written by Henry Mancini); and his biggest hit, "Because They're Young" (which hit #4 in 1960). He will be missed, but he'll also be joining all the other legends there in rock and roll heaven.
