In Heartbreak Town, the chicks describe stardust as a funny thing that makes one want to cuss and sing and that the need to touch it is hard to explain some days. In her song Woodstock, Joni Mitchell says we are stardust, we are golden, we need to get ourselves back to the garden. The garden I reckon is the garden of Eden, where there was no sin and everything was pure until Eve tempted Adam with that apple and then all hell broke loose......

It's in the song 'Heartbreak Town' via Fly.

Stardust is a scientific term rather than a poetic one, referring to refractory interstellar dust grains, or presolar grains, that condensed from cooling ejected gases from individual presolar stars. Stardust grains have been contained in meteorites since before the formation of Earth, and are extracted from such in laboratories. Many different types of stardust have been identified by laboratory measurements of the highly unusual isotopic composition of the chemical elements that comprise each stardust grain. Therefore, this site may be able to narrow things down. Oh yeah, people love singin about them too, I guess.

lol!!! I was wondering if someone was going to take it that way after I posted that.... Eh, one of my little quirks I reckon. Right after the Incident, I got scared that stores might quit carrying the Chicks music, so I went out and bought copies of WOS, Fly, and Home and kept them in unopened condition, just in case. And I just continued that through TTLW, and the DVD's too. I suppose I ought to put them in a safe or something. But, I have them on a shelf now, and I do have to dust them off every now and then, hence "star" dust.

I have a bunch of unopened ones so I can give them to people who haven't heard their music. I laughed when I read your response because I do the same thing.....
