..that I've heard the Chicks on Irish radio!
I was just settling down on the dreaded bus home that I take every friday, iPod was playing and I was drifting to sleep..then "something" made me take my earphones out of my ears and suddenly my heart skipped a beat!..loud and clear on the radio on a Friday afternoon was Natalie's voice belting out Landslide! It gave me such a warmth when I was listening, i felt like I was in my own little bubble enjoying the great song and knowing that even though I looked like the only one paying any attention, the whole bus was getting to hear the Chicks!
..i do wonder if it was fate that made me take out my earphones at that moment though..strange!
Cheered up my bus journey though!

Three stations which would be local to me have different country programmes for an hour or two during the week. I heard Travellin soldier on Thursday night...and There's you Trouble over a week ago on a Wednesday night. Needless to say I sent a text to thank the djs! There's one show in particular that's on Mon-Fri between 1 and 2.30 and the DJ loves the chicks...he plays them regularly..I don't even have to request them . I don't get to listen to his show that often since I changed jobs though...

Ah cool xxys! I think it was Dublin's Country Mix that it was on. I rarely listen to radio anymore but nice to hear that they are being played regularly elsewhere!

The daft biddy who used to be on Game for a Laugh played it at the end of her early morning prog, just before Wogan. That must be the first time in at least a year that she's played them. Perhaps someone's converted her...

Johnnie Walker played WOS on the breakfast prog on Radio 2 today (standing in for Wogan). What preceded it, though, was the traffic girl (Bobby) giving an account of going on a cattle drive in the States and helping to rescue a calf stuck in a tree. She kept thinking to herself that she couldn't go and live back in the UK after enjoying the whole experience so much because she needed to go and ride horses and chase cows all day. So what did she do? She went and bought a DCX album!! YEE HAAA! Then, about 30 minutes after playing WOS, Johnnie W. read out a message from a listener saying that she agreed with Bobby because she went to Calgary last year and didn't want to come home, but she did so with FOUR DCX albums! (For anyone interested, this is available to listen again at: www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wogan/playlist_tuesday.shtml - click on "Listen Again" Tuesday. The relevant parts are at about 1.24 and 1.54)

Cool Paul, id say you nearly had a heart attack hearing the Chicks mentioned that many times in one day! Pretty close, Aoife! One thing's for sure: my cup certainly runnethed over Sadly though, this news means that, in accordance with the BBC charter, there will be no possibility whatsoever of any BBC radio station mentioning or playing the ladies before October 2011. I'll have to check the wording to see if there's an outside chance of them appearing or being mentioned on BBC TV before then, but somehow I doubt it. Looking on the bright side, I might still hear one of their songs before their next tour to the UK in 2012.
