Quote by jwaldorf re. 10,000 Maniacs:
Actually, the film itself is just 2000 MANIACS; it was made on a very low budget. But yes it is a sick flick, one of the first splatter movies (from 1964!).

Right now it's Little Big Town, Sugarland, Martina McBride, Heidi Newfield and a little of Faith Hill and Joey & Rory.

ADIEU FALSE HEART--Linda Ronstadt and Ann Savoy Not that I begrudge what the Chicks did in 2006 with Taking The Long Way, but this album of ultra-traditional Celtic, French/Cajun, and bluegrass from that same year kind of got overlooked by both the music press and the public. Partly it's because it is a very somber album for the most part, drenched completely in acoustic instrumentation; it's not really terribly up-tempo. Also some songs are in French (and no translations are offered for those songs ["Plus Tu Tornes"; "Parlez-Moi D'Amour"]). Still, it is fashioned with care by Linda and Ann, who had collaborated four years before for the all-star Cajun album Evangeline Made; and with Linda's name and reputation on it, it bears at least one listen (IMHO).

I am addicted to ADELE! I love her new cd 19. I love evey song on the cd. She has a very blues sound that just pulls you in. I just seen her in concert a few days ago and behind the chicks, that was my second favortie concert. She is only twenty years old and she wrote all of her own songs, she's just amazing. Only one song on the cd that she didn't write is a Bob Dylan song called "Make You Feel My Love". Boy this girl can sing, just check her out for yourself!

"Adieu False Heart" (the title track) was originally by Fiddlin' Arthur Smith and the Delmore Brothers - so Linda and Ann were actually reviving an almost seventy year old song. And it was well worth reviving - I think it was one of the masterpieces of Old Time Mountain Music that has a haunting, yearning quality that can span the generations. There's a page about the Smith version (with lyrics) here: www.celestialmonochord.org/2006/01/adieu_false_hea.html
