If you would like to see Michigan's lady governor at work, here is live streaming coverage. www.wxyz.com/Governor Granholm is an attorney: graduate of Harvard law, clerked for fed. appeals judge, federal prosecutor, has been Michigan's attorney general, and is in her second term as Michigan's governor. She is a democrat is conducting a hearing on the possibility of removing a democrat mayor from Detroit's mayoral office. If the republicans had put forward a lady with the above qualifications, there would be no discussion about children and spouses... Here is a link to a live blog from Jim Schaefer a national award winning reporter who broke the story with his partner on the Detroit Mayor scandal. You may have to refresh the page every ten minutes to get his latest update. www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080903/NEWS01/80903027I've spoken to Jim, and am hopeful he may assist in our school district issue if/after the mayor is removed. Here's hopin' ps Here is a short YouTube video of Jim speaking about the mayor story:

Good news! And this is even better:
"The Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled that the Governor's removal hearings can go forward tomorrow. That means the hearings will go forward tomorrow morning "
How strange ;D

Thanks for the info. 1American, I was beginning to think a degree in journalism from the University of Idaho trumped a Harvard Law degree for a minute. But thanks for bringing me back to earth. I hope the mayor is thrown out with much enthusiasm.

You are welcome for the info. And bob... they just accepted a plea from the mayor that gives him 120 days in jail, a million in restitution, and a resignation as mayor. The odd thing is that the mayor doesn't leave office for two weeks. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26516456
