The Dixie Chicks performed 15 dates in Canada on the revised Accidents and Accusations Tour (compared with 6 in Australia and 2 in the UK)
To some extent, we have to take into account relative ease of travel (Canada starts with an obvious advantage for a band based in North America.) But I think that only explains part of it (for example, once they had made the journey to Australia, they could have fitted in a couple more dates there if it had seemed sufficiently promising).
As I see it, they put Europe on the "back burner" this time, probably to concentrate on building up a larger fan base in Australia.
But Canada is certainly their biggest "second home" - where they already have a very strong musical following, without the political hang-ups.

I agree with Bingo. But I've heard a rumour that Germany is the next big thing.

Well, I live in Belgium and I can not remember ever hearing the Dixie Chicks even once on the radio, let alone seeig them on the telly. To be honest though, I don't listen much to the radio, but still.... Having said that, they seldom - if ever - play any country or bluegrass music at all.

I was going to make a comment or two when I saw this poll but I see that Bingo has already said it all (as usual). Yes, lilchikcfan30, the Chicks never stopped being very popular here. It would help though if they released more singles. Any radio station can be forgiven for not playing the Chicks in heavy rotation when there is nothing new to play.
Oh, I just remembered. We heard the Chicks on radio and playing in the background at a hotel in Yulara when we were in Australia last March.

Most of the USA is the bit of North America between Canada and Mexico.
But that doesn't quite work - because Alaska is North West of the North West Territories "They should split Alaska in two - just to make Texas the third biggest state in the Union" (Michelle Shocked)
And Hawai'i isn't part of North America at al!l

I think the poll is trying to figure out where the chicks are most popular outside of the U.S.
