I have been meaning to ask this for some time. There were 2 guys on stage when the Chicks won Album of theYear. One guy had gray hair and one guy had long hair and a beard. Do any of you know who they were....

Jim Scott and Chris Testa. FYI: Chris Testa's name is right above mine in the credits for SUAS.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but can you (Nancy) say what your contribution to SUAS consisted of? As "thanks" lists go, this is quite a short one, so it must have been substantial. I doubt if many of us have much idea what being involved with a professional documentary is like, so have you been able to describe how you got into it etc somewhere?

Sorry if this has been answered before, but can you (Nancy) say what your contribution to SUAS consisted of? As "thanks" lists go, this is quite a short one, so it must have been substantial. I doubt if many of us have much idea what being involved with a professional documentary is like, so have you been able to describe how you got into it etc somewhere? I was first approached back in October 2005. I received an email from a Cabin Creek researcher saying they were making a documentary about the Dixie Chicks. They had been alerted to my website and noticed how much multimedia I had and thought I might have something in my archives that they could use in the film. I started asking a bunch of questions because I couldn't quite believe this was for real. Next thing I know, I received an email from the producer asking me to give him a call in NY so he could answer my questions and explain in detail what they were looking for. As it turned out, over the course of many months, I did some research for them, providing them with information about the controversy that I had collected and documented as it happened back in 2003. They also had me dig through my digital media for certain items, which I ended up sending to them. (ie: radio broadcasts regarding the boycott, the Toby Keith FUTK incident, some overseas audio and video, etc.) The producer promised to give me film credit, and I thought he was joking. At the time, I said I was just happy to be able to participate in their project. As it turns out, he wasn't kidding at all. Shortly before the film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, David called me to say my name was listed in the credits. I knew that Junichi was going to the premiere, so I asked him to scan the credits for me. Lo and behold, he reported back the next day that he did indeed see my name. Needless to say, I'm proud to be associated with this film.

Nancy, thanks for the history of your connection to SUAS. There are many of us new to your site and do not have this background. Congratulations! Indeed. Thanks for the answer to that question, Nancy. I had seen a mention elsewhere on the net that you'd contributed, but that was all. I suspect you have other 'connections' - as befits the evidently hard-working and dedicated creator and admin of what is easily the best DCX site. I hope the DCX management appreciate that it amounts to The DCX Fan Club site, given the lack of info available from "official" sites. Long may whatever connections you have remain! It's the only way fans seem likely to get answers to media rumours and snippets :-)
