It is the 76th birthday of Linda Ronstadt, who has probably influenced more female music artists than almost anyone in the last half century. And although she is no longer in the best of health (to say the least), she still does what she can with the life she still has to live. Here she is this past May at the ceremony marking the renaming of the Tucson Convention Center's Music Hall in honor of her, as she is a native of Tucson. Memo to the Chicks: "Love Is A Rose", ladies. That would be a wonderful way to honor Linda, and no one would lose, given that Linda's 1975 rendition of this Neil Young song is basically neo-bluegrass.

I agree about "Love Is A Rose". It is too bad about her voice starting to fail her.

Yes, Linda's singing voice is gone forever; and really her speaking voice is barely audible without a mic.
If I hadn't mentioned it before, although she was initially diagnosed with Parkinson's back in 2013, sometime before the end of 2019 it got re-diagnosed as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a condition that mimics certain aspects of Parkinson's, but which can also exacerbate other issues, and which could, however indirectly, lead to death.
In short, it is a parlous time for Linda health-wise, but she still intends to live whatever's left of her life to its fullest as she's always done. And besides, as she says, "Life after death isn't the question; it's life before death. So how are you going to live it?"
