Some of you may remember that years ago here on CRCR I loved using numbers to get points across. So here I go. With all the talk about the name change, I decided to use CRCR data to figure out how often we called then the Dixie Chicks and how often we called the the Chicks. I went back to 2005-7 and printed out close to 500 pages at random. I then went through each sheet and tabulated the number of times each was used. I'll publish the numbers in a couple days if anybody would like to guess the percentages.

I think they were called The Chicks about 80% of the time, followed by DCX about 15%, leaving Dixie Chicks for the remaining 5%.

I've called them The Chicks since the beginning. Heck, when I met them in 1998, their autograph was "Love, The Chicks"

I think they were called The Chicks about 80% of the time, followed by DCX about 15%, leaving Dixie Chicks for the remaining 5%. I called them the Chicks in the header of this thread without even thinking they'd change it to just that. I didn't think about what they'd change it to at all. That's how sure I was that they wouldn't change it. But I'm glad they chose their group's nickname instead of doing something completely random. I know I've used the Chicks a lot on this board and when typing in general. It saves time. Though I'd say I'm over 60% with calling them DCX. Saves even more time lol. But I only call them the Dixie Chicks when in person. The people that know me are aware of how much I love the Chicks so they've been a topic of discussion a lot these last few months. So far, either nobody cares or they joke with me about it. Like when my friend came over and saw a poster and said, "that's inaccurate, sir! It's supposed to be just the Chicks!" 😂

Hmm, I would guess DCX was what I had used mostly, but it would be interesting to see those percentages.
I’m guessing “Dixie Chicks” was at used that much, I’d be in the 15% range.
I think I mostly used “the chicks” or DCX.

After going through 117 different threads, I came up with a total of 1166 times the two names were used. Just Chicks came in at 776 times and Dixie Chicks 390 times. That means we used Chicks 66.55% of the time, about 2/3.

I enjoy doing stuff like this because I love statistics but also because the results say a lot about we fans. I constantly remember how we all love them and their music so much!
