I like the photo on their website but it would've been better if their faces weren't covered :/
The photo for the single is garbage, though. Looks like low quality, fan made drivel created by an 11 year old.
I hope the album cover is awesome. They are pretty good at having great album covers, so I hope the streak continues.
Also I'm glad I was wrong about the potential misinterpretation of the song. It's definitely clear what the song is about. Love them lyrics!

Oh yes, that song is definitely right to the point, no ambiguity there.
I enjoyed it.

Gaslighter has over half a million views on YouTube, could hit 1 million by the 24 hour mark. Can't wait to be done with my shift so I can go home and indulge myself once more.

Gaslighter video is #2 trending on YouTube. #1 is a song called 'DO DAT' by Stunna 4 Vegas feat. Dababy and Lil Baby XD XD XD

The amount of warm reception it’s getting is kind of amazing. People are loving it. Which is great. It’s been gaining traction slowly all day

Not gonna lie, both the song AND video are growing on me. Natalie posting all those clips of the whole thing probably drove my expectations up, honestly. If i were to have seen it without seeing clips before, i would've had a heart attack (the good kind!)

1 million views on YouTube as of now, 17 hours after its release. Not bad for a few gals who have been away for so long. So many people were waiting for this for too long. Saw an adorable comment from a mother saying she promised her 6 year old daughter that she wouldn't listen to it until she got out of school so they could listen together. <3 must've been torture! I would've cheated if I were in her position. Played it for my friend who I helped become a big fan of NRTMN, Let Him Fly and CTMA. He hated it But that's okay, I'll just never speak to him again. XD

I guess I'm the odd one out here - but I'm genuinely glad so many like it. The Dixie Chicks have radically reinvented themselves several times over the past 30 years - to me, this is looking like one of their more disappointing stylistic moves (probably because I'm not finding it easy, so far, to feel more than one of them taking much of a part in it.)
This is only one song, and I'll hold out for the full album (though Emily's comments about this one setting the sound for the rest doesn't do much to raise my hopes). I wish it every success, though, and the main thing is - if it does well, it should encourage them to issue more albums, hopefully in a variety of styles.

I love the video and do acknowledge a musical departure from their last album. For me, I have noticed a different energy to Martie. I can't explain it but she appears different.

My friend, who runs the Highway Queens blog, is pretty excited about the song, I trust her judgment! It's good to see it's getting support from some of the right quarters Highway Queens @highwayqueens

the more I listen to it I pick up stuff - more banjo, some Goodbye Earl vibes, etc. If they didn't have the dark cloud from the past, this would be a smash hit on country (who knows, maybe it still will)

I smoked a blunt last night and watched the video lmao. Holy shit. Whole new perspective 😂 Sounds even better than it did yesterday. I like that there isn’t any country western vibes in this. That’s the last thing I wanted.
#1 on all genre iTunes chart for over 17 hours now. People are into it.

I think its probably a mix between her darker eyebrows, losing weight in her face from getting older, and maybe botox. If she does have botox its in her forehead at least Its probably mostly about make up though

Although the song is clearly focused on Natalie's divorce, I wouldn't be too quick to write off the wider political connotations.
For me the, the most potently political message was suggested by the clip from Lyndon Johnson's campaign ad when he was running against Barry Goldwater.
It's not too difficult to project this into the present electoral cycle. Johnson was a Texan, and the man who pushed through Civil Rights legislation and Medicare, against concerted Conservative opposition. A complex figure, blighted by the Vietnam War and student protests, he nevertheless arguably achieved more than any other President to set in place the consensus around relatively liberal values that marked much of the later twentieth century in America, but is now seen as under increasing threat.
Goldwater was a figure of the far Right, applauded by some Conservatives and Libertarians, but regarded by many as unpredictable and dangerous, especially in regard to foreign and military policy.
Whether or not people want to see a connection with the upcoming election in the choice of this clip is likely to be a matter of personal choice - but I think the potential is there for those who want it.

“You picked the wrong chick.”
An interesting video, and as Bingo pointed out, seems to be some symbolism in some of the old stills and videos.
And know it has nothing to do with the song, but the opening no instrument voice harmonies between them are stunning, as usual.
And on another unrelated note, is that the same contortionist that was featured on America’s Got Talent recently, maybe in the champions version?
