That might be the music video they just completed. They’re in full hair and makeup haha. We may be getting a single sooner than expected. Sleep at Night was one of the first songs they tracked over a year ago.

I saw this on twitter a few days ago and by the looks of it, and the artsy directors that Natalie shouted out on her story, i think we can expect whatever video this is to turn out stunning... if mood lighting is your thing.

Who were the directors? I saw where Diane Martel was handling a photo shoot and the gaslighter video, I thought. That was months ago haha. I do hope that the rumor of the documentary about the making of the album is true. I saw on twitter where they had cameras rolling on them for the entire 2016 tour.

I'm not sure who the directors are. I never took screenshots of the stories that Natalie posted, so i cant find their pages anymore. Diane might be one of them, but the other ones work involved a heavy use of coloured lighting that Diane doesn't really show on her instagram page. I guess we'll find out who they are when the video drops.

Great news! So excited to hear about all of this! Timing is odd considering the recent developments regarding the aging Robin Lynn Macy. heard rumors regarding her health. Declining. Hate to say it but her music is just awful! Not much to look at either now that I think of it.

Thanks for making that compilation. While I'm afraid I can't honestly say that those clips do much to appeal to me personally, I do wish them well for the success of the album, and hope the finished product will please most fans, and win them new support.

I feel the same. Hopefully these seven minutes don't reflect on the vibe of the ENTIRE album and we'll get a few tracks that aren't as pop influenced.

I guess I’m outnumbered... but I don’t feel like it’s too far from FLY. Yes, I have yet to hear a steel guitar. But FLY was wayyy more pop than Wide Open Spaces. Home was bluegrass country and TTLW was more country rock. I guess this is their pop album haha. But I do notice that Emily and Martie are prominent in every clip. Which was a goal of jack antonoff from what I hear. The amount of banjo on this album is a significant increase from the last album. And Gaslighter sounds like it incorporated every classic Dixie Chick sound into one song. Which may be why it’s the first single. I saw a tweet a few months ago that hinted that antonoff wanted each of them prominently showcased in each song. Which is welcome considering what Taking the Long Way was. I think Rick Ruben dropped the ball in a lot of deep cuts on the album by relying on tireless guitar solos. But as I said 6 months ago, SONY is pushing this album as mainstream and based on their appeal these days, that’s smart. But it’s hard to gauge an album based on small clips of songs. So I shouldn’t Judge. But I don’t hate it.

Well, I do see "Fly" rather differently from the way you do. Far from it being more Pop, I see it as one of their most Country (and I think Natalie might agree - she has said that some of "Fly" is the most difficult for her to return to, after the trauma of the Incident, since she identified it most deeply with the Country ethos). The stylistic range is wide and adventurous - take, for example the beautiful "Don't Waste Your Heart" (which Natalie co-wrote with Emily). That showed significant Western influence. "Hello Mr Heartache" is one of their most Honky-Tonk inflenced songs, and "Hole in My Head" (written by Jim Lauderdale and Buddy Miller) is probably the closest they ever came to Outlaw Country Rock. Those styles had been out of favour in the commercial Nashville Mainstream - and, to me at least, it was a statement for "pure" Country. I'd be very surprised if "Gaslighter" came near to that.
You write as if you've heard the title track of "Gaslighter" - and I'm at a disadvantage there, as I haven't - but, in considering just these short clips, I think we should bear in mind that they all come from Natalie's Instagram, and therefore presumably give mainly hints of her perspective on the album. We've heard less from the others, who might want to emphasize somewhat different aspects. Obviously, as, you say. we have to wait for the full release. I certainly didn't mean to suggest that I thought I would hate it - just that the clips themselves didn't exactly increase my anticipation, lol

The jury is out for me. I wasn't sure how to view this but of course will dig into it upon release.

I'm glad Keith Sewell's still with them - his connection with them has been longer than any other musician I can remember (and, incidentally, survived incidents like his wife being berated by random members of the public while out shopping). As well as guitarist, he was musical director for their famous live cover of Beyoncé Knowles' song a few years ago. With him on tour, their performances should be in safe hands!
I noticed passages in these clips (e.g. around 3.30 and 4.15) that reminded me of Taylor Swift. This is not unexpected, with Antonoff's production - but also because Swift has shown support for them, and they may, perhaps, hope for some parallels in the fact that Swift left commercial Country for a very successful Pop career (though it should be remembered that she is in a different age demographic, and hasn't had a long hiatus from performance)

Cowboy Take Me Away hit #1 20 years ago today. Would be perfect if they could release a single from Gaslighter today to mark the special occasion. *Wishful thinking* XD
I've had the Gaslighter (song) snippet stuck in my head for the last couple days. It's the first song to get stuck in my head that I haven't actually heard all the way through. Oh the torture!

I would also like to add a big thank you to Natchick12tx for that compilation!
Hard to tell from snippets, but does maybe give a feel for what’s to come.
And hopefully that’s coming soon!
