Aside from this board, The CRCR site, and the chicks occasional Instagram stories/posts, there really isn't a lot of non-political or fun content for new fans to interact with. Most fansites/blogs that were up and running are now defunct, which is a shame, but after all these years you don't expect for them to be up anyway. Being a new chicks fan puts you in a weird position - for me, the experience has felt almost second hand. I basically learned about the chicks via "The Way Back Machine" as opposed to go-to methods like Twitter, instagram, and youtube.
The digging around that you have to do is honestly more interesting than frustrating, and knowing that i didnt have to go through that EXTENDED hiatus makes it an all-around positive experience (if there weren't a new album to look forward to in 2020 i wouldn't be this enthusiastic lol.)
ANYWAY, I'd like to leave a few links for any fellow "new fans" or just those of you who've been around for a while and wanna check out some sites as they used to be .
Junichi's Blog/Articles
Dixie Chicks Post Office
The Official site
Assorted Fansites (most links have to be plugged into the wayback machine)
CRCR (im pretty sure these give you access to a few videos that aren't currently on the site anymore)

Thanks Viv. I'm hoping that this site continues being here. There are still some of us hanging around.

I remember the Dixie Chicks Post Office, and posted on it quite a bit myself - but a lot of the discussions there could be more political than music-oriented. That political focus was inevitable, because of the highly divisive climate that followed the "incident" - but in reality, that focus was tangential to the Chicks themselves, who made few political statements, and couldn't, in my view, be considered, by any normal criteria, a political band. Also, although, obviously, there were individual exceptions, I don't think the majority of the people who jumped into the controversy (on either side) felt much deep connection to their music as such - or stayed for the long run. One important site, that has been active for some 18 years, is Judy's DC Henhouse, where there is a good deal of information HenhouseThe former site that I remember best belonged to Nici Larson (NicChick). She started the first fansite devoted to the Chicks in their present line-up, straight after their Mainstream Nashville breakthrough. The Chicks even once called her their "Internet Girl", and Steve Maines (Natalie's uncle) sent her a message of thanks. It was also the first site that I posted on, when the firestorm broke, and I saw her site and admired what she was doing. I had a lot of fun posting on that site, and reading her fan stories! All told, I think the Chicks were lucky to have the loyal fan support that they did, and I hope that will continue with fans old and new, if the new music, as I hope, leads to them again becoming a more or less permanent presence on the recording and touring scenes.

Thanks Viv. I'm hoping that this site continues being here. There are still some of us hanging around. No problem! Everything that Nancy has set up is truly remarkable, it would be a shame if all of her work was lost
