My guess is a Christmas song. Probably not a Christmas album since it would be out already.

I'm just hoping it's not something simple like CYH merch. IDK, I'm just not the type of person that buys shirts and key chains of musicians I like. Well, maybe if I was at their concert, or I saw something at a thrift store or garage sale. But not online. And being that I'm not at all a Christmas music lover, I'm hoping you are wrong, Kent. But if that is what it is, hopefully it's an original song. But I think the worst possible thing could be something lame like "40%-60% off CYH T-shirts." But they wouldn't make an announcement over that.....
Whatever it is, I hope it truly is "very special."
EDIT:
Lol I just saw that the tweet right before the holiday teaser tweet was about 40% off shirts.

They're making a holiday album. Ballads and intimate winter and Christmas songs. The cover will have Martie and Emily hiding behind a big gift box. Titled "Unwrap Me".

Mindy Smith has asked fans to submit photos of people or events that mean a lot to them, and she plans to include these in a video for one of the songs on her Christmas EP. (Just an idea!)
However, that EP itself is already out - and as Kent says, it's hard to believe the Hounds would be aiming to produce one when we're already through the first week of December. (If they are, I imagine it would be digital only - and perhaps placed on i-Tunes. I can't use i-Tunes, but that's by the way, lol)
Either way, I think some form of music is more likely than merchandise.

I honestly thought we would have heard something by now. I kept checking back to their twitter page the day they made the tweet thinking it was going to be revealed soon. From reading comments through-out the internet, the most popular guess is holiday music.
I hope it's official CYH holiday cookies. The taste of Martie and Emily in every bite.

I don't like it Gorgeous singing voices, but a weak melody and even weaker instrumentals, which is a surprise coming from these two. Good for you NicChick for guessing correctly.

This song has the Magical Christmas Jew Seal of Approval (tm).
(Seriously, my birthday is Christmas Eve and I'm Jewish. It's fantastic.)

I'm afraid my reaction is rather similar to the way I felt about their second album - I'd like to like it more than I actually do! Frankly, I probably wouldn't be very interested if it was from other artists - but the Hounds are people that carry a big legacy of enjoyment and nostalgia for me..
Those with long memories may recall that the Chicks issued an earlier Christmas disc, in 1990, called "Home On the Radar Range" (though neither of the two songs on it actually bore that title.) Like this one, the general feel then was Laura's adult Pop - but unlike this one, Martie and Emily asserted their right then to close with a Bluegrass instrumental passage.

Well, it's been almost a full day since I first listened to it. For some reason, there are certain artist's songs that I need to listen to at least a few times before I start to like them. Court Yard Hounds, Alanis Morissette and Nick Cave are some artists that come to mind. With the CYH, I didn't like their debut album until my 5th listen, give or take. But now I love it. But it only took me a couple of listens of Amelita to decide that I loved it. My original comment towards "Bom Bom Bom" was "I don't like it Gorgeous singing voices, but a weak melody and even weaker instrumentals, which is a surprise coming from these two." A day later and I still do not like it. I might even dislike it more with a second and third listen. But honestly it's no surprise considering I hate Christmas music. Literally the only Christmas themed song I like is Lonestar's version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," but still, it's not like I would buy it on iTunes. But hey, I love every song on their debut and almost every song on Amelita. I can't say that about most albums. So I'm not complaining.
