Over in the UK, Channel 5 will be broadcasting a documentary at 9 this evening, about Phoebe Prince, the 15 year old Irish immigrant girl, who tragically took her life after reports of high school bullying in 2010.
I hope to watch this, and I shall let you know if there is any reference made to the CYH song commemorating her

The documentary, made originally for television in Ireland (where Phoebe spent most of her life; her family moved there from England when she was two) concentrated mainly on interviews with educators in Massachusetts (where Phoebe's mother moved with two of her five children, a year or so before the girl's death). It addressed what could be done about bullying, and why policies appeared not to be fully implemented or working in this tragic case.
(There was, though no reference to the song, and the film may indeed have been completed before it was written. If it had been already shown in America, it's even possible that it was this that alerted Emily and Martie to the case - though I have no knowledge of that.) In any case, I'm glad the song was written - I think it's the strongest on the current album)

I cannot believe I am only now hearing that Phoebe was based on true events. Shame on me.
I'll read up on the story.
