Thanks for finding that, Sue! The link you gave works fine if you paste it into your browser - (to post a direct link here, you have to avoid the white "quick reply" box at the bottom of the thread. Instead, if you click on the word "reply" to the right, it brings up a second page, which has all the symbols for posting links, videos, etc) This is the direct link to the article you found: www.austinwomanmagazine.com/the-court-yard-houndsThere are a couple of quotes from the article that cast a bit more light on their attitude to the Chicks' hiatus: Emily says: "The Court Yard Hounds is my world and my focus,” Robison adds. “When opportunities for the Chicks come along, and we all three decide yeah, we want to do that, we’ll make that our focus for a time. But this band is where my heart is right now.”And Martie: "There were some very tough years in there,” she says. “I look at my kids now....And I think now’s the time for me to give back to them the way my parents gave to me. So that time is over for me"(Although that may give little comfort to fans hoping for a permanent trio revival, I think it's good that there being realistic, and putting the new venture into a context where they can find fulfillment)

Fantastic article. All the way down to the last sentence:
All in all, Amelita is a mature, considered piece of craftsmanship that can still rock and groove like a sumbitch.

I think people need to let The Dixie Chicks thing go. If they want to do it then they will, if they don't then that's their decision. These girls are in a different place mentally than they were even 10 years ago. They're mothers first now.

Their lives are so different now, raising children, divorces, even artistically the Erwin girls and Natalie seem to differ on that level. I for one, like what the girls are doing (Em & Martie). I love their sound…it's funky and spirited. Natalies album isn't my favorite, but i appreciate what she's done. I just wish she'd tour more.

These girls are in a different place mentally than they were even 10 years ago. They're mothers first now. If you mean people need to stop 'whining' about them not making a new album and saying they "owe us", then I agree. But if you mean we should stop talking about the possibilities of them making a new album altogether, then that will never happen. Their amazing music made us die hards. The fact that there are still regulars on this site after 7 years of no DCX albums shows what a huge effect their music had on all of us. I will always hope for a new album. And I will always involve myself in conversations about it.

"Their amazing music made us die hards." That is so true for me. That day in November of 2000 when I first saw the CTMA video was a day that started an amazing journey for me. A journey I'm still on. I'm still listening to their music and it is still enriching my life.

Exactly about the DCX music. However, it's hard to let go, but I am trying. I agree, they are all at a different place now.
