I like the pre-Natalie Chicks better than the Court Yard Hounds. They just display so much more musicianship on those albums. I am liking Emily's voice on the CYH however. Nothing will ever measure up to Nat and the Chicks together. I so wish she could get over it and go back to recording and touring. (sigh)

If--and that is a very big if--the Chicks do decide to come back as a trio of Nat, Emily, and Martie and make an album, whatever it is, then I think it should be something that they themselves decided to do and let the chips fall where they may. It shouldn't be anything forced on them by record company pressure or, even more, by fan pressure, because such an album will inevitably sound like they were forced at gunpoint to do it. Forced art is rarely, if ever, good art, let alone great art (IMHO).
Until or unless a reunion happens, I'll take what Natalie has done for her solo debut, and what Martie and Emily did on their second CYH project. Both are a hell of a lot better than about 90% of the drek that somehow escapes onto the radio these days.

Yeah, a lot of one-hit wonders too, for the suits to make bank off of, obviously since forever, while the Hounds easily have more than one hit on their songlist, per EACH album. Puzzling. I hope Bingo is right about how more radio play may be on the horizon for them.
