Just reading this new interview Martie did with femalefirst.co.uk In the opening of it, this popped out at me: "- The release of your new album Amelita is now just around the corner so what can fans expect from the new tracks? If they haven’t gotten the new Court Yards Hound record then they are going to have a very new experience (laughs). We have written most of the songs together and we tried to write about things that applied to our lives. I think that this album is very uplifting and hopeful; I was actually going through a divorce when I was writing this album. People deal with hardships in their live and I wanted to have a positive and hopeful outlook on love and things like that, I think that that is what you get with this record." I had no idea they were getting a divorce... I'm very sorry for them and the kids. Also, Emily and Martin are married: - You have mentioned Martin Strayer already and he is also back on board so how collaborative a process is it between you all? It really is; he is married to Emily now. What he contributes musically is so important to our sound - I was actually very glad that they got married because on the first record I was thinking ‘what are we going to do if they break up because he is so amazing?’ (laughs). what the heck. . . . why is it so difficult for people to stay together? Life in general is a continuous learning field and sometimes the two partners of a couple develop into different directions and at a different speed. Gaps can thereby start to exist that might grow over the years. At a certain point the two people involved do no longer see or feel a mutual understanding. Future might start to look bleak and ways part...

too many restrictions and too much pressure from society when married. I don't have the same view as most in regards to marriage or even sex. I believe promiscuity is natural but unfortunately religion shuns those who attempt to commit human nature. "morality" gets tossed around a lot in regards to these issues. I would only apply that word in situations involving the lack of consent as far as sex goes. marriage makes no sense to me. the only reason I would ever get married would be for the financial benefits. but I would maintain an agreement of an open marriage if my partner would so choose. I don't understand why there are so many hateful messages towards famous people when they either get divorced or caught having an affair. granted, having an outside relationship without your spouse's knowledge or permission is downright cruel, but for someone to judge a complete stranger so harshly... I think we all remember some of the comments posted online when Emily got divorced from Charlie. granted, some of those mean comments would not have existed if not for the 'incident' from '03. so its no surprise martie was so secretive about it during her divorce. lets not be too harsh on people, famous or not, if they went from loving someone to not loving someone.

Give it a few years, you might feel differently later on.
