Martie has tweeted:
"Sound checking in Dallas to sit in with the amazing John Fullbright tonight at Poor David's Pub"
This is one of the venues the Dixie Chicks played in their early days.
(The artist she's appearing with, John Fulbright, is from the Oklahoma Red Dirt Music scene. He played at the Woody Guthrie festival at Okemah while still a teenager, and now often works in Austin. To get an idea of the possible style, here's an example of his work:

Martie's also posted a picture of herself with her "good ol buddy", the owner of Poor David's (it must bring back some memories for both of them!) /photo/1

A video of this collaboration has now been posted And I'll just say - that is music to my ears! I saw that a few days ago. It's a cool video. It's great to see anything from any of the chicks at this stage. She can still totally rock that fiddle! I think she's the best fiddle player out there. On a separate note, I remember reading once (maybe in one of Junichi's articles) that Martie had an interest in producing other artists. I really hope she does that some day...I think she'd be super. I would also love for the Chicks to produce their next album. Home was a masterpiece. I'm sure it won't happen...but I can hope!
