"Keeping It Country" have named the Dixie Chicks at number two in their best ten live performances of the 2000s, for the version of "Cowboy Take Me Away" performed on the Top of The World Tour. Here's what they say: "Before the Dixie Chicks became punching bags for the right wing, they were three incredible country girls who wrote universal songs and sold a lot of albums and ticket sales doing it. This song, “Cowboy Take Me Away,” is one of their finest. Co-written by group member Martie Maguire, the track is a simple love song about needing only your man by your side. The song is performed beautifully and with emotion that is more ingrained than on the album, a sure treat for any fan of the trio."www.keepinitcountryblog.com/2012/01/top-10-live-tracks-2000-now/(The song they lost out to at no, 1 btw, was the Zac Brown Band's version of Ryan Adams “Oh My Sweet Carolina” - so at least it was to a pretty remarkable rival)
