(Emily Robison) "I know its frustrating for the fans because we get a lot of questions through our web chats online and people don’t believe us when we tell them that there really isn’t any drama between us, it’s just that we’ll do it when everybody wants to be there and wants to do it again. I think it makes some people angry and some people understand, but it just is what it is."
I'm so glad she said this. I, for one, thought there really was some stuff between them. I still think some of the reluctance to record and tour on Natalie's part is about her marriage, but at least they are still together. I hope.

Thanks for posting that.
I guess many fans might not know what she meant by "we kind of got turned on to it by another family" She's talking about the Gilchrists. Sharon and Troy were their partners in their first band, Blue Night Express. Mr Gilchrist drove them around in their first bus, they called the Texas Tent, and Mrs Gilchrist made the costumes the three girls wore on stage.
Sharon did play some gigs with the Dixie Chicks too, in the first few months of their existence, until she left to attend Belmont University in Nashville. Although she's played bass in some bands, her main instrument is the mandolin, which she teaches.
Here's Sharon recently, with a song she wrote about her grandfather

Martie seemed to be absent at first which is why I guess Emily was answering most of the questions in the beginning. Although Emily always seemed to be quite the talker.

I really hope they stick to that, and remember that word "everybody"
I mean no offence at all to Natalie. Her reasons have been explained many times, and many fans (myself included) are willing to understand and wish her well with that. But the CYH are the active group, working hard to establish themselves, and, I think, likely to remain the more active group, even if the Chicks return for occasional reunions. I hope they - and we - don't slip into thinking everything depends on "when Natalie's ready".
There are advantages in finance, name recognition, fan loyalty, and record label satisfaction in another DC project - but it has to be worked into the reality of the present situation. I think 'what is' is more important than 'what might have been' and a DC reunion should not be thought of as the 'be all and end all' that everybody's waiting for.
