I am leaning toward a more "Chicks" version of "Landslide" because three of the girls (Rachel, Quinn, and Mercedes) are singing it... And with that use of a smiley, I'm thinking that Nancy might have a clue what this is about...

Quote by asuwur: And no offense is taken, I assure you of that. I only wish there were a little more civility in the outside world, and that we could avoid the kinds of internal conflicts that wreak havoc on our society. It may be Lennonesque of me, but all I'm saying is that we should give peace a chance. Beautifully said erik!

I don't think Glee as the special project makes sense. The original artist has nothing to do with the Glee recordings unless they are on the show. Completely agree. I wonder when we'll find out?

Thought I should point out that Glee's "Landslide" cover is looking to be even less inspired by the DCX. The tracks for Glee's latest album was released, and according to the list, "Landslide" is sung by the character Holly Holiday, not the trio that was originally thought to be going to singing it.
(The episode in which it appears, by the way, will be in a week.)

I've heard there may be a new WM3 film, so perhaps that would be what they were recording for? Hilb tweeted about the Glee/Landslide connection, she's usually right on target with that stuff. I don't think most artists do anything for those episodes though.

Well, I guess the secret project is not a new album.
Nothing in the works as far as an album, but we sing a song on @stevemartintogo 's new release.RT@NSpicklez any timeframe for a new album?

www.tvsquad.com/2011/02/25/glee-gwyneth-paltrow-landslide/It would seem Gywneth Paltrow has covered Landslide in Glee. Having listened to the audio link (briefly) it sounds like they've gone with the DC version. Also with Natalie tweeting a photo of a tambourine (?) given to her by SN, would this point toward a Glee collaboration in some way?

Maybe on the next chat, someone needs to ask Emily and Martie to spill the beans, and tell us what they were working on with Natalie.

Seeing the photo of Martie and Emily with Steven Tyler after a meeting - maybe the chicks are going to be a mentor/guest on American Idol? I don't watch AI but I'd check it out if they were on it.

have they done the project yet? I'm assuming that the song (God Only Knows by the Beach Boys) in the "Big Love" TV promo is the big secret project.

No - that was a spoof. If you read the whole article, you can see it's just The Boot's satirical comedy writer having some fun; "This week's spurs are all about babies, chicks and s'more. Pay attention.
Snow wreaked havoc in Music City this week. Brad Paisley had to lift Little Jimmy Dickens to his shoulders in order for him to scrape ice off the windows of his tour bus. Keith Burns renamed his duo Burns and North Poe ... And with Nashvillians stuck for an entire day inside their homes, oddsmakers in Vegas were reporting some heavy wagering on which member of Rascal Flatts will have a new baby nine months from now.
Big congrats to Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman who had a second child by a surrogate, or as they described her, a "gestational carrier." Apparently the woman in question won an on-air contest on a country radio station in Brisbane and earned the right to carry the baby. Keith and Nicole are now referring to the mother as "caller number ten."
The Court Yard Hounds are headed to Los Angeles for a top-secret musical project with their old Dixie Chicks pal, Natalie Maines. I've found out from my own top-secret source (I like to call him "Shallow Throat") that they're recording a bluegrass cover of Cee Lo Green's hit song, 'F--- You,' with Toby Keith making a cameo in the song's video. (Robert Earl Keen is reportedly producing the song.)
Sony has ended a 22 year relationship with Alan Jackson, and at the same time they closed one of their two CD duplication plants. In some cutting edge news, they've announced that all pregnant Sony employees will be expected to digitally deliver their new babies.
After a pre-Grammy party in Nashvegas last week, Dierks Bentley wanted to show off his new Camaro to buddy Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum ... only to walk out and find his car was in flames. The two made the most of it by making s'mores and singing their own duet of 'Need You Now' while waiting for the firemen to show up.
CMT has paired Faith Hill with The Pretenders for a live 'Crossroads' episode at this year's Super Bowl. Faith will reportedly sing 'I'll Stand By You,' while Pretenders' frontwoman Chrissie Hynde will put on thigh-high leather boots with a mini skirt and try get through the Sunday Night NFL Football song.
And don't forget that upcoming CMT 'Crossroads' episodes will include Billy Gilman with Justin Bieber, along with the oddest pairing yet: Darius Rucker with Hootie and the Blowfish.
That's all for this week, kiddies. Gossip amongst yourselves.
*Ophelia Payne is a cranky old bat who likes to poke fun of country music headlines."(I hasten to add, the last line is her own words, not mine!)

What was the secret music project? Has it come out and I've missed it or are we still waiting?

My friend, ace reporter Willy Spoofit, managed to disguise himself as an upright string bass and obtain unique film footage of them rehearsing for their secret new project. As you can see, it's an exciting excursion into authentic sixties dance music.
Because it's a secret, David Grissom, Bukka Allen and Keith Sewell are all in drag, and the sisters are wearing wigs. Natalie's grown her hair, and put in some serious gym time - but you can easily see it's them.
I'm hooked on this new music - all my worries about the next album have disappeared

I'm hooked on this new music - all my worries about the next album have disappeared Good for you, Bingo. There remains the open question as to why the blond lady with the big ta-tas (thanks Kent for that expression!) only wears one black glove?! Is that a new fashion statement?

2 black gloves = tacky 1 black glove = rebel (because that's the image they're trying to project) sorry, but these girls suk-it.

There remains the open question as to why the blond lady with the big ta-tas (thanks Kent for that expression!) only wears one black glove?! Is that a new fashion statement? Oh, yes - probably a fashion statement. Progressive Country music is full of fashion statements - such as fingerless gloves, bandanas, round dark glasses (preferably with red or blue lenses, but definitely round), and caps worn backwards (woolly hats, preferably without a bobble on top, are fine if you don't have a cap - both show you don't let that scorching Red Dirt sun govern your dress sense.) Brimmed hats are more tricky - maybe OK if you spill beer on it, and ask twenty people to stamp on it first. Don't wear a stetson, unless you're sure of your audience - that tends to be a different sub-genre. I'm assuming ta-tas are a reference to the tattoos, right? Yes, Kent, tattoos, of course, are absolutely essential - Natalie has one, so she's made a start. The camouflage trousers could be a neat touch - unless the audience think you're trying too hard. What could be a problem is that they're all wearing look-alike outfits, which doesn't go with the rebel image. Getting one of the support musicians to wear their hair in an enormous spiky coxcomb could break the look - but it's a bit Joe Buck now. This is a genre with a mirror image to the Chicks' old audience - heavily male in demographic - so it's good to see the Chicks trying to break in. I wish them luck, but they'll need new songs.

I was referring to the lead singer in the video and how Natalie has referred to her own small ta-tas in the past.
