I like Straw Cage, Skyline, See You in the Spring, Ain't No Son, and Gracefully the best from what I have heard.

Could any kind soul who can run Apple software please give us a short description of the unheard tracks? (I mean as to tempo, style, etc - as far as you can tell from a 30 sec sample )

Thanks, Nancy - I really like the sound of that sample!
(I've said before that Emily reminds me of Mindy Smith - and in those slower deliveries, even more so)

Thank you, Nancy, for providing this sample of Straw Cage.
It seems to me that Emily has this yearning feeling in her presentation of this slower song. There must have been quite some illusions in her life that eventually crumbled and provided her with ample feelings and thought power to come up with these emotional songs of hers.
I am so glad that she has had the courage to start singing lead in her own songs and I am looking forward to more to come from her...

For those unable to listen to the samples on iTunes, there are some slightly different clips available at www.amazon.co.uk

Thanks for that tip, Maz (they're on the Hounds' MP3 page - which looks a bit jumbled, because many of the songs are listed twice. The 'preview all' button works well though) The samples haven't altered my personal view that I like "Ain't No Son" best - and, I'm afraid, "I Miss You" least (To my ears, the musical style chosen for the backing on that track seems unexpectedly out of character with what I've heard of the rest of the album - but I guess variety is all to the good, for appealing to different tastes Even on the short samples, the difference between Emily's and Martie's ("Gracefully") voices is very evident. I'm sure that will lead to some discussion when the full songs appear.

Bizarre page! Why it shows two pics of the same album at the top, and both priced at £7.49 when they haven't decided on a price for the album itself yet on its own page is unexplained. But it does do the previews, as you say. OT: why did we never get around to prehearing things we can't actually view (pre- or post-) ??

Btw, the "unknown song" posted on the CYH video page is "Well Behaved".
