According to this report, "It Didn't Make A Sound" is the OFFICIAL first single to be released: ===================================================================== SXSW Scene Report: The Court Yard Hounds at Sony Music party By John T. Davis | Thursday, March 18, 2010, 05:19 PM Except for a couple of songs on KGSR’s live morning broadcast today, the Court Yard Hounds — the new collaboration between the Dixie Chicks’ Martie Maguire and Emily Robison — made their public performance debut at the Sony Music day party at the Clive Bar Thursday afternoon. Though the Dixie Chicks are not disbanded — they will tour with the Eagles and Keith Urban this summer — the two sisters are proceeding with the new, more intimate CYH configuration as a way to stretch their creative muscles and get back in front of folks after a nearly four-year layoff. The industry party was a laid-back affair on a gorgeous afternoon, and the Hounds’ bluegrass-inspired new original songs proved an ideal soundtrack for a literal back porch gig. Though Maguire and Robison co-founded the Chicks, they have never made the move to center stage before now. Notwithstanding, they are charismatic and agile performers and blessed with the sort of organic harmonies that nothing but shared DNA can inspire. Robison took the lion’s share of the vocals and traded between guitar, Dobro and banjo as the duo (abetted by a backing trio) worked their way through “Then Again,” “The Coast,” “Fear of Wasted Time” (the most emotionally-fraught song on the album, according to Robison), and their forthcoming album’s initial single, “It Didn’t Make A Sound.” “This is a song I wrote that Martie made me re-write,” said Robison of the latter tune, proving once again that a sister is the music critic of last resort. —John T. “This is a song I wrote that Martie made me re-write,” said Robison of the latter tune, proving once again that a sister is the music critic of last resort. Haha...that has to be a little annoying, but it's a great song. Thanks for the article Nancy.

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed that they're releasing "It Didn't Make A Sound" as their first single. They could do SO WELL with "The Coast". That song spans genres and could be played on multiple radio stations. *sigh*

Much better choice for a single than "the coast". But, a better choice would be "ain't no son".

There are now more reports that "The Coast" will be the first single. I guess we won't really know until it actually happens.

I think The Coast sounds so radio friendly...really reminds me of sheryl crow. But I'd be all for Ain't No Son too!

The short clip of them jumping on the trampoline is the greatest thing ever. And little Harper! She looks so much like Eva now! Also, I want to see those promo shots of the girls in the sequined dresses. Those will be amazing. Perhaps they'll be in the CD booklet?

Since the download is free and I won't be taking money away from the girls by posting this, I think I can put this up: Here's a link to where I'm storing the video for download - it'll be good for seven days. This should enable those of you who live overseas and can't get around Amazon's downloader to still see the video.
removed video link per Amazon request
