For those of you who still have record players (remember those!), you might be interested in RECORD STORE DAY on April 17. You'll be able to purchase "See You in the Spring" 2 weeks prior to the release of the CYH CD set for May 4. But, the song will be on 7" vinyl. Go to this link and you can plug in your state to find the nearest participating store where you can purchase the record. www.recordstoreday.com/Venues

Does this mean that it will be the first single from the album?

That's cool...I neither have a record player nor a zip code but it still sounds good!! Maybe try the International Stores link, then? Of course you'll still need a record deck, yes, I know that, but I am trying to help! I do have a record player ... but my local "participating store" has no trace of the CYH So if you can find the disk, perhaps we can meet up in, say, Anglesey to listen to it? Better bring a tape deck, too ... Why are these things always so customer-complicated?

Amazing that my town is on the list. Don't have a player though.....but it's cool that they're honoring those that like that organic sound.

The other track on the 7" single will be "Everybody's Hurting", from Jakob Dylan's forthcoming album "Women and Country".
We know that Dylan is duetting with Emily on "See You in the Spring" - and it would be nice to think that the Hounds might return the favour and appear on his album too (I stress, I have no information as to whether they do)
Mainly, the women on "Women and Country" are known to be Neko Case and Kelly Hogan (who appear with Dylan on eight tracks). However that does still leave a few tracks unaccounted for. For what it's worth, "Everybody's Hurting" is said to include a cool fiddle solo.

A music store about an hour away from me is participating in this. I'm hoping to go there on that day.
I want to get CYH, as well as Bruce Springsteen (who I also adore very much) is releasing one too, and I plan to purchase his as well. Can't wait! ;D

I just got the following message from Amazon: "We're unable to fulfill your order for the items listed below because they aren't available from the supplier any longer. As a result, we cancelled them from your order and your credit card wasn't charged. See You in the Spring We're sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused. Thank you for shopping at Amazon.com."

I'm bummed. My store posted what they'll be selling on Saturday for Record Store Day and Court Yard Hounds wasn't listed. I was excited to get this and add it to my collection.

Then a week later they send emails saying the item is unavailable and needs my approval for them to keep trying to find it. I've stopped pre-ordering anything on Amazon. When it comes out, I'll buy it.

I don't know if this is allowed, but I recorded the song for those who don't have it/don't have Record Players. If it's not, Nancy, feel free to take it down. It's obviously not album quality, but it's still pretty good for being a recording. www.sendspace.com/file/06j9k0I got it today! It was $6.99 in stores. I also picked up a copy of Fly for only $4! They were having a huge sale so I couldn't help myself! There were only two copies of the vinyl left by the time I got there at 1. Now there's none! All I can say is I'm ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY at this song and how their voices blend SO WELL. I have it on repeat and it's driving my family nuts! This is DEFINITELY my favorite song on the album. SO STRONG melodically AND lyrically. Even the chorus!

Brilliant, hilb - thanks so much for putting that up. (I think this release shows a lot of confidence from Emily. Remember, she's on her first outing as a lead singer, and she's agreed to go back-to-back with Neko Case, who's one of the best loved female singers in Progressive Alt. Country, with a big cult following. Even if this vinyl record is proving rather hard to come by, the buzz surrounding the release of "Women and Country" should help get the Hounds known to a new crowd.)

I bought the last two copies after driving 50 miles to a participating store. I was gonna buy some more, but felt lucky to get those two. I emailed the store a couple of days ago and asked them if they would have it, and they said they would only have a few on hand, so I should be there early. Now, if I only had a record player. But thanks to Hilb, I don't need one! Holy cow!!! Is that our Emily?
