I'm merely reporting this - I have no brief for these guys or their attitude! But it may be of interest
Two Phoenix, Arizona radio broadcasters, Tim Hattrick and Willy D. Loon, have placed the Dixie Chicks number one on the list of people they want to interview (above Obama and Palin - and even above Taylor Swift! "a cool chick and super-nice. She might be too big now to call us back.")
They say: "We need to bury the hatchet with our girls. (Tim and Willy quit playing the trio's music after Natalie Maines criticized President Bush onstage in 2003.) We miss their music. We just want to work it all out. They're talented and controversial. And they're good kissers too! Think of the ratings!!"
I wonder if the feeling is reciprocated though...

First off, it would be a great step for them to play the Chicks music and "bury the hatchet"....however, they want to "bury the hatchet with our girls"? If they were "your girls" they could've ignored following the flock to begin with. They miss the music....well, thanks to the fact that they followed instead of "never follow" they've punished the fans that want to here the Chicks on the radio too. And finally....."think of the ratings".....I smell someone that is introuble and is not legit. Ok, im off of my soap box for the time being.

I have a little trivia to share about the connection between the Chicks and Tim & Willy. By now, I'm sure you have listened to the Chicks' fantastic rendition of "Joy To The World" that I have on the Audio page. www.chicksrockchicksrule.com/audio/joytoworld.mp3Well, they recorded it on Tim & Willy's radio show on KNIX in Phoenix. I got the CD straight from them.

I'm all for forgive and forget, but to turn your back on a group and then expect them to come and "work it all out" is a bit rich if you ask me. Instead of joining the lynch mob, why didn't they take a stand?. I'd love to read their answer to that question.

Quote by dripsey3:
I admit they're asking a lot of the Chicks to forgive and forget, when nobody seemed to want to do the same for the Chicks in 2003. On the other hand, a number of DJs were pink-slipped for playing the Chicks in the weeks and months following the Incident; and many others, including these two as well, were probably afraid of becoming the next ones on the unemployment line because of the angry response from the right-wing country music crowd. This is even addressed to an extent in SHUT UP AND SING.
Money does tend to talk in this country; and if these guys hadn't stayed silent, their money might have said Goodbye. Such was the way in George W. Bush's America, I'm sorry to say.

It's way past time for everyone to get over this. A lot was said and done by both sides. That was almost 6 years ago. Let's get the Chicks back on radio - it would be great to hear this band on the radio instead of the drivel that currently spews over the airwaves.

Bill,
I agree. I am ready for the Chicks to be back on the radio. There music is needed very badly. I hope the Kicks radio crew will do the same thing in Atlanta.

Though I rarely listen to radio, and never to country unless I'm surfing the airwaves, I'm ready for country radio to GET REAL. If country radio can learn to allow for differences of opinion in politics and religion, they'll be bigger and better for it.
Meanwhile, they DESERVE the mediocrity they fill the airwaves with, and the decline in listernership.
