I was very much turned off and that's putting it mildly with Foxworthy's "attempted" jokes about the Chicks. I turned the show off shortly after that after yelling a few expletives at the supposed host. I really don't watch that channel very often mostly when I'm surfing channels but THAT DOES IT for me. I don't care to ever watch it again.

Someone commented about Big and Rich and I got turned off with them after seeing their response at the grammys. After one of the Chicks wins, it showed the crowd applauding and John Rich sat there without a single clap of the hands. I think it's on one of the clips here!

I hope that I do not offend anyone but tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back for me with Country Music. I have always been happy that CMT played the Dixie Chicks video but this cut way too hard for me. I am sure that someone from CMT had some knowledge of the monologue that Jeff F said tonight. I just located a phone number of MTV Networks, of which, CMT is included. I will be calling them tomorrow at 212-258-8000 to discuss my dismay about the way Jeff F handled the Dixie Chicks. I also sent an email to the media folks at Viacom who owns them all. I was sitting on the fence for a long time with country music and I have fallen to the side against them. My husband truly loves Country Music and it was a slap in the face to him also. You can certainly see why the Chicks decided not to be at this function. If someone knows how to email Jeff Foxworthy, please let me know. I have a few words for him!

I agree with you all, to me, the country music industry and CMT are just a bunch of frauds, I stopped watching and listening to country radio about a year and a half ago because I was sick of all the bashing when the Chicks didn't do anything wrong. The Dixie Chicks are better than them.

Rascal Flatts SUCKS! And Kenny Chesney? I'm sure there's another, more recent song he could play live other than freakin' "Summertime" He's been playin' that at award shows for over a year. BOR-ING! Jeezus.

My mom cracks me up. When I called her to ask if she heard the DCX slams in the beginning, she told me, "I'm not watchin' that stupid Foxworthy anymore!" And she said she was going to bed. GO MOM! I, on the other hand, must watch it--it's like a car wreck--I've got to see how bad it is.

Other than Sugarland, The Wreckers & Keith Urban, there's not much to watch for though.

Well, I say the Chicks need to not promote CMT anymore via their website and lets not promote voting on here for them anymore. Why waste our energy on something that we know won't really matter? Did we really want the Chicks to win or even be nominated for an award that really is not based on the music but rather popularity among the republican boycott money makers of the shameful country music industry? The Chicks are much better than this shit.
I'm ashamed that I even voted to support this show. A show that doesn't show the strength of artists in that community, but only makes sure to give the money makers a shot at their 15 mins of fame.
The Chicks are icons, legends, and will never be forgotten because their music is relatable, strong, brave, brilliant, and they are probably the most talented and professional artists even in the market right now in any genre. They don't need the country music industry at all, and the tour and album sales prove they will triumph. They sure as hell don't need CMT. All they need is to keep doing what they always do: stay true to themselves. They don't need to kiss all the asses to get back "in" with that industry.
