It appears as my not so computer savvy father (brother of Nancy) unintentionally did something to the GoDaddy account. The site will be down until I can get GoDaddy to fix the problem for us. Sorry about all of this! The site will be back hopefully soon.

Bad news...GoDaddy is continuing to give me a lot of problems about this. Also, most critically bad, I'm having a hard time locating her local backup of the site. It appears as though my dad unknowingly deleted her hosting account with the domain account...resulting in the total loss of the site data. Cross your fingers for me that I can find a copy of the site!!!!

Plus, if your dad deleted something, it can probably still be retrieved by the right person. If it is a matter of funds, maybe we can ask for some donations to pay for the cost of a geek to come out and restore things. Just a thought. Kent

If Nancy kept her back-up copies on a home computer, the main thing is that even if they've gone from the file allocation table, they'll still exist physically on the hard drive (unless it's been re-formatted). If you're hoping to recover them, use the computer as little as possible (preferably not at all - since anything written to the hard drive will potentially overwrite whatever's there.
If you install a free operating system, such as Knoppix, to a CD Rom or to a flash drive, this may be able to read what's on the hard drive - if it can see files that look like the ones you've lost, you may be able to copy them to an external hard drive, plugged into a USB port.
The same thing may be possible if you have TWO internal hard drives in the computer (but obviously don't write anything to the drive that you think the files might be on, as you'll risk destroying them.

UPDATE!
I'm actually a network administrator so this is all quite simple to fix. Unfortunately, GoDaddy is being a bit....dickish, for lack of better words, and is demanding that I provide a death certificate in order to grant me access to her domain name. Even after providing it (after our lawyer finally got it all in order), they're taking their sweet time. Fortunately, Aunt Nancy kept a full backup in various places that I was able to get.
It's only a matter of time now! Thanks for sticking with this, everyone!

That's great that you're getting things worked out. It's awesome that you found a back-up for the server and all those files (and there were many) didn't get lost!
