(Failing that, how about a good Irish name like Aoife! ) And Aoife and an Eva in one house would be uber-confusing! Oh yeah, I naiofe thought of that!

Deirdre or Emer are nice Irish names...Personally, if I was picking an Irish name for a girl it would be Saoirse (pronounced seer sha or something close to that!)

I found this on a website (sorry, don't recall the name) and this is what it said: Well, as I have mentioned before in the regular FAQ page, in order to be certain the sonologists/ sonographer should reassure himself that he actually sees the penis and scrotum in the case of a boy and the labia in the case of a girl. The absence of the penis must not be taken as sufficient evidence of the fetus being a girl. The 3-lines sign which denotes the labia in the fetus is a very valid and accurate indication of the female gender. Most of the time one should be able to tell the sex of the baby by about 20 weeks and very often even at sixteen. With modern equipment, the diagnosis can be made even as early as 11 to 12 weeks (see below). On the other hand, as the correct visualization of any fetal part depends of a host of factors such as fetal position, amount of liquor and thickness of the abdominal wall, I have had occasions when I cannot be certain about the sex even at 28 weeks.Okay, so there you go... Does anyone want to do the math? From what I could find, she announced the pregnancy around 1/30/08....and she knew the sex. In a previously posted article, it was stated that she and Gareth were going to do invitro starting last August. So, by my calculations, and using info from your post, I'm guessing that it took a couple months for this one to take. And I'd say she's due anyday. Oh the suspense! Wednesday, January 30, 2008 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Martie Maguire of the Dixie Chicks and her husband, Gareth, are expecting a third daughter. Maguire, 38, announced her pregnancy on the group's Web site Monday. She wrote that her 3-year-old twin daughters, Eva and Katie, "are very excited to have a new baby sister." She said the baby is due in late summer. www.thonline.com/article.cfm?id=189021

SOME RULES ... Since this game has brought notable interest, maybe should establish some rules,... We'll say each member's first 3 own choices are the bid limit. That's just fro sake of the lil competition. ---However, still feel free to ad ideas and discuss. Members' entry counts, over 1, are in parentheses.---- *I'll list agreed upon names by the member who chose it first. *Agreeing on a previous mention will be noted but I will decide doesn't have to count as one of your own 3 entries. Also, more than welcome to submit a middle name. But rules are generally for the first. I wonder how creative Martie and Gareth could get. I guess I sortakinamaybe suppose it would be formal to add a prize for whoever comes closest to the actual. .....Hmmm...have to think on that one. lol hmmmm...Rewarded baby-sitting/nanny duties during future touring?.... I'm sure it pays well. Maybe get Dora (Angela) to get through to Martie's Fam and have a ...pacifier autographed by DCX?? ...(they'd have to write reeeal small tho) *********** Entries updated below.

something with ann/anne/annie.
(am i allowed since i picked elizabeth? i will admit i did not read the rules. since everyone like to reminded everyone of the rules i did not want anyone to miss out on an opportunity! ;D )
but several of those i really like as possibilities, esp. margaret.
(and erin since if i had been forced to birth a girl that would have been in my top 3.)

Well smuds, just you mentioning a 'top 3' in your post ^^ seems to reveal that you HAVE read the rules. ;D But either way, you are a-okay. I will edit accordingly and your Elizabeth entry shall remain, and place you in agreement with Margaret and Erin. But, yes, you are right, the rules will be steadily enforced. ETA:: 2nd bid from me:: Ciara

Boob, as you no doubt realised, my mention of Aoife was not really a serious suggestion. It was merely in honour of our own holy mo-jo! So is there any way that you could (pretty please) see your way (kind sir) to deleting reference to this superb name (no offence, Aoife) and replacing it with Sarah as my second suggestion? And, to get my full value for money, I'd like to offer Lindsay (or any variant spelling) as my guess no. 3. BTW, I understand that you are offering a pair of free tickets to the next DCX concert in London to anyone who guesses right (I heard it through the grapevine). That's really generous of you. (I knew that what other people were saying about you wasn't really true I will update daily, worry not. As well, in honor of alikat's 3,000 Day, as he would do the same. ;D Well, I would, boob, but you've already gone past 3,000 so that makes it a bit difficult....

Very well then. But wouldn't that be something if Aoife, Eva, etc... anded up being the name?! ;D uhhh, the grapes are a lil sour there, for the "DCX ticket prize' was actually concert tix coupons for playing 5 rounds of the Rating Game-Shepherds Bush with Kent and I. ...But NO one plays anyway!!!!

My boss has an Irish last name and ancestry (I don't know how close). He has three girls: Maura, Claire and Maggie. Those will be my three picks!

xxys000:: No. it won't. Agreeing with someone else's pick is only noted on the list. You get 3 picks of your own to nominate. So you still have one left. Again, tis all just for organization. Hey...Talk of all the names you may like to think of. However, the first three names you show committed mention of get listed. So far so good. edinburgh1:: "Maggie" is already claimed (myfavoritegirls) so you are listed next to, so you get to submit one more. NOTE:: "Aoife" is now open for any takers!! Alikat relinquished it last evening. Update..."Aine" (:awn-yeh) ~irishchickfan-(2)"Anne" (or Ann,) ~smwd-(3) "Annie" ~smwd-(3)"Aoife" OPEN FOR CLAIM "Abigail Rose" ~oregonchickfan-(3-limit) ...(agreed by Lilchickfan-(2) for "Abigail")"Arianna" ~oregonchickfan-(3)"Bridget" ~ker8-(2)"Ciara" (:kee-rah; aka Keira -Eng. ) ~boob-(2)"Claire" ~edinburgh1-(2)"Colleen" ~ker8-(2)"Cora" ~irishchickfan-(2) ...(agreed by boob-(2) )"Elizabeth" ~smwd-(3) ....(agreed by Tony)"Emer" ~xxys000-(2)"Emma" ~Lilchickfan-(2)"Erin" ~Pebbles ....(oh please not that!!--my son's name is Erin lol lol...and it's agreed by smuddy-(2)?!! ;D )"Lianne" ~Lianne ... (she's not kiddin)"Lily" ~Lilchickfan-(2) ...(agreed by drizzletown)"Lindsay" ~alikat-(3) "Louise" ~alikat-(3)"Madilynn" ~boob-(2) .... (agreed by ozfannz)"Maggie" ~myfavoritegirls-(2) ...agreed by edinburgh1-(2)"Margaret" ~myfavoritegirls-(2) ...(agreed by alikat-(3), and smwd-(3)"Maura" ~edinburgh1"Melissa Mary" ~samfan6"Natalie" ~chicksfan"Peanut Anne" ~Sandster ...(wow...neat!!)"Samantha" ~eaglemaster-(2)"Saoirse" (:sheer-sha) ~xxys000-(2)"Sarah" ~alikat-(3) ...(agreed by xxys000-(2)"Savannah" ~oregonchickfan-(3)"Sophia" ~eaglemaster-(2)Addendum...eta::...wahtever
Note: I had to cost smwd 3 picks for it was mentioned to me that "Annie" holds arguable variation from "Ann" or "Anne". Open for appeal.
myfavoritegirls' entry of "Margaret" and "Maggie" will now count as two nominations, since others here have shown added favor to each in particular. Again....open to appeal.

"Ciara" (:kee-rah; aka Keira -Eng. ) ~boob-(2) In the US Ciara is pronounced (see-are-rah) "kee-rah" would be "Kira" Interesting how some names vary from country to country and some don't.

Interesting how some names vary from country to country and some don't. ^^ Right. I have noticed that too. According to This Website of Irish Names, Ciara and Keira(Kira) are rightful derivatives of eachother. Thus I was giving Irish pronunciation.

As long as it's not something weird and stupid. Don't label a kid with a weird name, or a common name spelled weirdly.

And don't use two middle names. As someone with two middle names, it's a bitch to fill out forms. ROFL
