Many thanks for spotting that. Some hard news about a Chick doing something musical, at last. Obviously they have a number of tracks completed, or at least mostly completed (allowing for whatever they call final editing etc).

Thanks for that exciting news!
Rob Ickes is a member of the Progressive band , Blue Highway. He plays reso (which presumably means Martie can't afford to hire her sister, LOL)
Seriously, Rob is phenomenal

Scott Vestal is a banjo maestro - again very much noted on the Progressive side. He performs with two of Martie's great heroes, John Cowan and Sam Bush.
Here he is (in the red shirt) with the Sam Bush Band

Keith Sewell, of course is the Chicks' acoustic guitarist, and has been with them on their last two tours.
Alison Krauss, obviously, everyone will know - her appearence on the record virtually guarantees a vocal track somewhere along the line. It also raises the exciting prospect of twin fiddles (one of the core traditions of Mountain-derived music, and also often found in Swing)
All these artists can play Traditional, if required, but their emphasis is on Progressive - and that is my take on how much of the record would sound. (For those who have no idea what I'm talking about - sorry- I guess the best analogy to the sound in other genres might be Jazz)

Although we have few details - this lineup is well set to get Martie respect from the dedicated festival crowd. This is an all-age audience, often passionate about their music.
In addition, I would hope that Martie might make some impact with the mainly young audience who follow the hardcore modern Roots Country scene. For comparison, here's a version of "Fire on the Mountain", performed by the in-trend "cult" neo-traditional band OCMS (Ketchum Secor on fiddle and vocal)
